When I walked into Whole Foods and saw all of the pumpkins and gourds laid out, I felt like Fall had truly arrived. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, and I'm more than ready for the heat of summer to come to close.
In that spirit, I busted out my trusty flannel shirt for a busy day at the Green Festival in DC and All Access Fashion in Tysons Corner. I've had that shirt since high school, and it's not only silky soft, but will be with me for decades to come.
But back to the pumpkins....When you begin the hunt for your perfect pumpkin this October, I encourage you to start with a local farm or ask your local grocer where they get their pumpkins. If they don't source locally this year, maybe they'll consider it for next year. You never know until you ask.
