Eco-friendly and Ethical Valentine's Day Style Inspiration

Whatever your style or situation, there are plenty of ways to get into the Valentine's Day spirit while still supporting eco-friendly and ethical companies. Above and below are a few picks from some of my favorite brands that you can click to shop. Included are:

Maybe I should have just called this post "things I would give myself for Valentine's Day." #SELFLOVE is important!

And one more with my faves from Fleur du Mal, Josie Maran, Maison du Soir, and of course, Voluspa. And that mask...it's made in Germany using leather and Swaovski crystals by a company called Zenith. I feel like it could be used multiple times per year...masked balls, Halloween, 50 shades of Grey viewings...? ;)

The Best (Maternity) Jeans EVER: AG Jeans

3 AG Maternity Jeans for Pea in the Pod Baby Bump Style

I know I just talked about these jeans in my last post about eco-friendly maternity clothing essentials, but it bears repeating: Adriano Goldschmied officially makes the best maternity jeans ever. They are like pajamas that appear to be skinny jeans, I swear. I encourage you to try on AG Maternity Jeans at Pea in the Pod (or regular AG Jeans at Nordstrom and other department stores), all the while knowing they:
  • Are Made in the USA
  • Use eco-friendly fibers like Tencel
  • Use their signature Ozone wash technique that minimizes use of water and chemicals in their manufacturing process
  • Partner with Charity:Water

2 AG Maternity Jeans for Pea in the Pod Baby Bump Style

I'm wearing my AG maternity jeans with secondhand heels from Reddz Trading and a grey turtleneck sweater I've had forever that happens to be the perfect long length. I'm a little concerned I may be ruining all of the nice long sweaters I have been living in, but only time will tell...

As for the shoes, kitten heels and pointy toed flats are elongating but still comfortable and do-able during pregnancy (for me, at least!), and they've been my go-to shoes for work meetings and date night. Along with my Birkenstocks and high-tops, of course. I'll do my best to try and squeeze in a few snaps of my weekend sneaker-head outfits before baby girl joins us, at a bare minimum over on Instagram, but things are touch and go from here on out folks-- due date is tomorrow!

Istanbump in Istanbul

baby bump, istanbul, ethical fashion, maternity style, blue maxi dress

Soooo...surprise! My husband and I are expecting a very small human to join us this November, right around Thanksgiving. Thus we thought it appropriate to bring our little Turkey to Turkey! If you'd like to follow along on our travel adventures over the next two weeks, join me over on Instagram. Istanbul is only Part 1 of a two-part adventure, so there will be lots to see!

I hope that you will accept this new addition to my family as a totally legitimate excuse for the decrease in posting as of late-- I've been distracted...? But! I vow to supply you with twice and thrice-weekly doses of ethical style inspiration from this day forward.

In today's outfit, I'm wearing (as I so often am) second-hand finds from my favorite DC consignment boutique, Secondi. But no matter where you live, everyone wins, because I found virtually the same maxi dress on sale for $39 at Nordstrom, and it's made in the USA. Yup. You're welcome.

I'm wearing it with a white bucket tote bag (also from Secondi and purchased especially for this trip), a vintage Vera scarf (endless options from $10-$25 on Etsy), and bangles made sustainably by Mango Tree Fitted Bangles.
